The Cratoule Summer Singing School is delighted to announce a new student bursary in the memory of Michael Harper. The bursary will be awarded to a tenor, who is a current college student in support of his participation in the summer school during the week 15th – 22nd August, 2026. The bursary will cover most of the fees of the course. Students interested in applying for this bursary should prepare a video recording of one Mozart or Handel aria and submit this to Marc Verter at by 15th May, 2026. Results will be sent by 1st June, 2026.
The successful singer will be asked to prepare, in addition to the other repertoire for the summer school, one song from the Williams-Howard Collection of underrepresented composers and arrangers of the African Diaspora, as part of Michael Harper’s legacy. We are grateful to acknowledge the support of the RNCM in hosting the Williams-Howard Collection.
The bursary has been kindly donated by Michael Harper’s partner Tony Page.
